Pam
Pam was my high-school sweetheart, a girl who repaid my affection by cheating on me with a drug-addicted, homeless skater that she met at the mall. Soon after, she dumped me during lunchtime and quickly brought her new boyfriend to meet everyone. His name was Matt, which is also my name. You can imagine the twists and turns my self-confidence took after learning that fact.
My parents used to called her “The Admiral” because of her bossy nature. Like “sk8r boy”, I didn’t know this either until we broke up. Although it’s been half a lifetime since I last saw her, the subject of my ex- continually pops up, thanks to constant ribbing from my sister Micha. In Pam’s mind, Micha was her best friend; in Micha’s, Pam was delusional and obnoxious.
